Do you like candies and chocolate? They are so sweet! Who doesn't like sweet treats? Many people love them. But, did you know sugar has a story that isn't so sweet?

▲ sugar consumption

First of all, let me tell you how serious sugar consumption affects us.

Sugar spread slowly from island to island, reaching the Asian mainland around 1000 B.C.

In the 18th century, an average man consumed around 4 pounds of sugar a year. In the 19th century, it increased to 18 pounds and goes up to 47 pounds in 1870. Finally exploding to 100 pounds in the early 20th century. Today, an average person consumes 77 pounds of ADDED sugar.

However, is JUST consuming sugar THAT bad? Richard Johnson, a doctor at the University of Colorado, asked. "Why did 153 million people have diabetes in 1980, and now we are up to 347 million? Why are more and more people obese?" He then added that the culprit is sugar. Sugar is toxic and many people are addicted to it. Sugar addiction not only makes us fatter but also after the initial SUGAR RUSH, it saps our energy.

Also, Scientists say that sugar contains many empty calories, which makes it have NO nutritional value. Furthermore, sugar can also be deadly by itself when consumed at a high dose, which will lead to diabetes, obesity, and high blood pressure.

Is there anything to replace sugar? There are some kinds of alternatives to make food sweet such as xylitol, coconut, honey, etc.

▲ a sugar alternative

Since people recognized the seriousness of sugar, they have tried to add plum juice, honey, maple syrup, and so on when cooking.

Why don't we use natural substitutes instead of sugar?

The less sugar, the healthier life!
