The number of South Koreans treated for depression last year rose 15.8% from five years before, government data showed. In 2012, the number of patients treated for depressions was 587,860 and it had been slightly decreased for two years. However, from 2015 to 2017, the number of patients increased about 100,000 people. While the number of women grew 12.1 percent, the comparable figure of men jumped 24 percent from 182.000 to 226,000, the data showed.


▲ If depression is more serious as time goes by, it can lead to suicide.


What is depression and why it happens? The formal title of depression is "Depressive Disorder". Depressive disorder surely needs a doctor's treatment and medicine. This mental illness minds suicide and critically influence negative effect. So, it is a disease that the fatality rate is very high because of the suicide attempts. It is a clear disease that never treats with own willing and non-resilient. The reason for going down with depression is divided into three factors, biological, environmental and physical. In case of environmental factor, atmosphere and lifestyle which surrounds you such as sexual violence, family or friendship problem, lost lover, good child syndrome and strong stress can affect causing depression. On the other hand, physical factors are usually happening when people caught brain diseases such as dementia, epilepsy, and Parkinsonism.

Then, how to cure depressive disorder? First, using medicine is cheap and efficient. Also, if you get proper treatment of the expertise, you can expect a good improvement and have the possibility to return your normal life. To avoid depressive disorder, making habits of exercises or travels that you can enjoy is the best. The brain of depression patient has a problem in adjusting neurotransmitter. However, exercising improves neurotransmitter metabolism so regular exercises will help you to avoid depression.

People who are suffering from depressive disorder become more and more. In practice, there are many famous people suffered from depression such as the late South Korea president Ryo Moo-hyun and SHINee member Jong-hyeon. Depression comes unexpectedly, so we need to know our condition's statement.
