A trip to the foreign country should suppose to be happy and enjoyable, but how would you feel when some tragic accident happens while you were having a trip? This tragic incident happened to two South Koreans in Maui, Hawaii. Two South Koreans died on Maui island. They were drowned.
In Hawaii time, at 4:50 pm, Tuesday, two South Koreans were found floating near Keawakapu Beach on Maui. They were sent to Maui Memorial Hospital, but the man immediately died, and the woman also died in the hospital. An official stated that the consulate general in Honolulu has learned of the cases after it was notified on Friday by the police that the two were South Korean nationals. Upon the notification, they sent their staff to Maui and at the same time informed their kin in South Korea of what happened. He added that the consulate will provide necessary assistance for funeral service and other procedure.
According to a local media, a 40 years old man and a 37 years old woman were found dead on the beach, and the police around them were already doing a CPR when rescue team got to the place where the accident happened. Many people on the internet were mourning for them, and they thought that they were having a honeymoon.
According to 'Hawaii News Now', the press just told that the people who are dead are from South Korea, but they did not tell about their identity. Also, people do not know how and why the two people died specifically. They just know that they died of drowning.
South Korea's foreign ministry said on Sunday that they have been providing the consular assistance needed to handle the death of the two South Korean. The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Honolulu said that local police will conduct an autopsy for the two people.
It feels so sad to hear the news that people from the same country died while having a trip. Many people need to be aware of these kinds of accidents and let tragic accidents like this not happen again.
