Many people who are commuting in the morning would see students wearing almost identical clothes, long-padded coat with hood. The coat is so long that it could reach the owner's knees or even longer. Also, students want to be in the same fashion with others, so its popularity is increasing in higher speed.
With the reason that school uniform is too cold in winter, teens started wearing long-padded coats, which became a popular trend. Moreover, some parents are welcoming this trend, because it is at least warmer than the one which was famous until last year, with similar price.
However, the fact that long-padded coats are expensive does not change. Lately, these kinds of coats were nicknamed as 'spine breaker' because of its high price which makes the parents tired.
At almost the same time, the Pyeongchang long-padded coat was launched, to celebrate the Winter
Olympics in Pyeongchang. Their price was three times lower than normal ones, with the same or better quality. This is why so many people slept out three nights in the open to stay in the line, in front of the department store. With Pyeongchang coats'
incredible price, many consumers complained about it. On the other hand, the staffs insisted that their prices are normal. They added, "Pyeongchang coats could be cheaper since the Olympics is sponsored by the government, which made the cooperation with Vietnam factories easier."
Some schools decided not to allow wearing long-padded coats, with the reasons that that uniformity could generate disharmony or alienation, and the coats could hinder the students from walking straight. However, most students disagree on that, insisting that they have right to wear what they want. Students even made the petition in the government to wear long-padded coats.
Unlike recently, people do not care about the long-padded coats brand, as long as it is still the coat. Then, some parents prefer those coats. However, still some critics argue its high price, and students' tend to prefer uniformity with others rather than individuality.
