Pepero Day is a day in which couples or friends give pepero snack to each other. It is a very popular day in Korea. So many people give a chocolate snack to their favorite person.

Pepero is a snack that is a cookie stick covered in chocolate. It has many flavors like almond, strawberry, and coconut. Also, it has many styles like nude and skinny. Its price is between 900~1200 won, so many people connect with pepero easily. And people can make pepero to themselves. There are many pepero recipes on the Internet.

First, put in the butter(30g) and blend it until it’s smooth. Put in sugar(20g) and a little salt and blend. After, put in egg yolk and vanilla oil(5g). Pepero day originated from middle school students. In 1996, they exchanged pepero because the students wanted to be skinny like pepero. A broadcasting company found out and reported about it. In 2008, its price is 700 won, but its capacity was 30g. 3 years later, the price is 1000 won and is the capacity is 42g. Now pepero is 1200 won. Compared to 20 years ago, the capacity increased by six grams and six times the price. 

Pepero day is a popular and meaningful day in Korea. But Lotte confectionery is still increasing the price. Many people think that pepero day is Lotte confectionery's elaboration.
