In 1988, Deep Thought became the first program to defeat a chess grandmaster. With this, people have been seriously thinking about its supremacy over machines not just only computing power. The technology is improving a lot, and last year, Alphago won over Lee Se-dol at the game of go. After this game, a lot of people said it is like an artistic thing. So, engineers teach artificial intelligence to be more reactive. Such this AI technology, can you imagine the collaboration of AI and music? KCCA and SM Entertainment held a music exposition on November 1st.

KCCA and SM Entertainment made about six music contents with AI technology. They are Daydream Intelligence, Atmo: Generative Music for Spatial Atmosphere, BBOY X AI, and some other projects. One example is "Daydream Intelligence." AI made the lyrics and melodies itself which received good comments. People thought the mix of the letters is refreshing. After AI made the lyrics and melodies, the artists in SM Entertainment modified them a little bit and made them more friendly. Another example is "BBOY X AI." The AI created by the "BBOY X AI" made new dance moves based on the data from previous dances.

In addition, Intel, which is an American semiconductor and microprocessor maker, made a music video using AI. Intel made a promo clip of Chris Lee's "Rainy Day, But We Are Together" with AI technology. AI usually uses the specific effects on the singer's face like falling water and glittering. Through learning, AI made the face in 3D instantly. Also, in July, the British Band named Muse made a new music video of its song, "Dig Down," using AI technology and pulled online video footage of celebrities, politicians, and artists to match the lyrics.

The world is changing so quickly. A lot of things which we imagined in the past are mostly real these days. People think that technology is very comfortable and great. Then, as time passes, there are so many inventions in our everyday life. People who went to the exposition which was held by KCCA and SM Entertainment have positive reaction about the collaboration of AI and music in the future.
