 Lee has charged for embezzlement, bribery, hiding assets, criminal proceeds abroad and perjury for his five years of penalty.

 The prosecution indicted Lee for offering 43.3 billion won to former president Park and her confident, Choi, to help him secure control of the nation’s largest conglomerate.

 The sentence of Lee could affect the former president Park, while bribery related to Lee and Park was condemned as guilt.  However, the guilt was lower than the Special Counsel Park Young-soo’s earlier sought. Arguments are ongoing about the courts sentence.

▲ According to the survey by STI, about 43.4% of the subjects said the penalty of the heir was too light.

 According to the survey which Media Today has requested to STI, about 43 percent of people answered that Samsung Heir has gotten too low penalty for his guilt. The answer of the survey differed relating to the answerer’s age, people with the age around 20 to 40 has mostly answered that his penalty was too low, while people with the age around 50 to 60 mostly answered the opposite. Not only people but also the politics says that is a lacking penalty for the heir’s sentence.

 To the courts sentence at last 25^th, political parties claimed that they respect the court’s choice, but some point outs that the penalty was lower than his guilt. The Minjoo Party of South Korea claimed out, “The heir’s work to do is to apologize to the nation. He must stop utilizing technique at the court, but he should attend the court with reflecting manner.“ Justice Party also claimed, “The court’s penalty was lower than the special counsels previous sought. For the main person who caused this situation, this is too less penalty.

The court could not miss that they gave an overlooking sentence.”

Despite of the controversy, Lee has submitted petition of appeal in the 28^th of August.
