 Samsung Electronics released the Galaxy Note 8 in New York on August 23rd, but it will come out on September 15th in US and UK and September 22 in Australia. The Galaxy Note 8 has many features such as 6.3-inch screen, a top-of-the-line processor, wireless charging, and water resistance. There are new features of the camera. Users can adjust the blur of a picture before or after the picture, use Dual Capture, which is where it takes and saves two pictures where one is a blurry portrait and the other is a wider-angle image that keeps the background in focus, and more features are in the frame. Using this, removing or altering the blur effect is possible from the gallery. However, to cover up last year’s Galaxy Note 7 problem, Samsung has to be successful with the Galaxy Note 8, and to know if that happens, comparing it to other phones is the best way.

 One of Samsung Galaxy Note 8’s biggest competitions currently is the Iphone 7. However, the Galaxy Note 8 has few features that allow it to beat the Iphone 7. For example, the Galaxy Note 8 allows you to add extra storage with a memory card, use the included stylus to write and doodle on the screen, use iris scanning, and charge  wirelessly. 

 Additionally, the Galaxy Note 8 allows the usage of Samsung Pay with most magnetic credit card readers. However, there are rumors that the Iphone 8 is going to have wireless charging as well. In order to know whether the Galaxy Note 8 is a phone worth getting, comparing it to an essential phone would be appropriate. When compared, the Galaxy Note 8 has a better display, RAM (random access memory), storage without any additional memory cards, camera, battery, and water resistance. The water resistance is IP68, which means that it is protected from contact with harmful dust, along with protection from water with a depth of more than one meter which is enough to protect itself from rain, splashes and accidental submersion. The downside of the Galaxy Note 8 is that it has slight heavier weight than the essential phone by ten grams.

 Currently, the way people are reacting to the Galaxy Note 8 is mainly negative about its price and batterry. The price is about 900$ which is believed by the people too much for a phone that they will change in about four years. As for the battery, its smaller size is attracting negative comments as the battery life got shorter than the Galaxy Note 7. However, Samsung needs this Galaxy Note 8 to be a big success to cover up its problems with the Galaxy Note 7 and become the Samsung we knew 

before.
