On August 21, 2017 the BMW M5 first appeared in the Need for Speed game. And it will be officially announced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. After the E60 M5 (2005~2010) got legendary, incomparable V10 natural intake engine, the M5 became the ultimate super sedan. But the next generation’s F10 M5 (2011~2017) got a V8 twin turbo engine. The engine power was worse than the previous model, but the fuel economy went up a little. Both previous models got a beautiful rear-wheel drive systems. Unlike the E60 and F10, the new M5 is a four-wheel drive, not a rear-wheel drive. It means, the age of rear-wheel drive M5 is gone. But don’t worry about it. Because the M5 has a rear-wheel drive mode like Mercedes AMG E63. So you can drift with the M5 for fun. BMW call this unique system the M-X Drive.

Like other M models, it has powerful exteriors with aero dynamic parts.

The M5’s V8 4.4-liter twin-turbo engine is an upgraded version of the previous model and it produces 600 horsepower and torque of 76.5kg.m. The reason why the F90 M5 uses a four-wheel drive system is the rear-wheel drive system can’t hold 600hp as it’s too strong. It means you can lose your rear wheel’s control very easily. Then, driving this car is too so hard that normal people can’t drive it like other cars. The car reaches a speed of 100 km/h at a stop in 3.2 seconds and its maximum speed is limited to 250 km/h. But if you choose the M driver package option, the top speed limit to 3300km/h. The breaking system is also strong. There is a 395 mm front brake disk rotor and 6 piston caliper. The rear brake has a 380mm rotor and single caliper.

The interior has chosen the same design as the recent BMWs. The central display, which had been buried, was changed to a floating type, and the central control panel, console, and air conditioner trough were finished with a black glossy panel. The start button displays an intense red, and the gear knob has been redesigned for the M only. There are two red buttons on the steering wheel. If you save engine, suspension and transmission, you can call these settings anytime you want. In the old M5, this button was a small button on the left side of the steering wheel, but the new M5 put it more intuitively and prominently. Seats are made of fine leather merino leather. The driver and front passenger seats with the 'M5' logo can be adjusted in depth as well as the width of the backrest. According to BMW, the sports seats are designed to hold the driver's shoulders as far as possible to the maximum possible avoidance of physical exertion in a sporty driving environment. This car will compete with Mercedes AMG E63, AUDI RS6, Jaguar XFR-S and Cadillac CTS-V.

The new M5 costs about 160 million won (160000 dollars). Can this new powerful monster be a legend again?
