The prosecution announced to begin reinvestigation of ‘NIS 

Comment Unit’. This is reinvestigation after special investigation unit prosecuted the head of the NIS. NIS is national information system(국정원), and it’s direct institution of the government. 

They distribute, collect, write national and international secure information. Also, they handle national secret and investigate about national security or relation with duty of NIE staff.

After this ‘NIS comment unit’ unveiled again, it caused 

controversy among the nations. NIS comment unit is made of citizens who here hired by NIS. They wrote a comments 

and received money according to their instruction. This 

happened in 2012, when President election period and it 

changed and invented public opinion. Also, NIS spent their budget that is made of nation’s tax to hire comment unit 

over billion won.

It is a big problem that during presidental election period people were affected to the comment unit. 

Because public opinion affect election seriously. Most of reaction among netizens is the anger of NIS 

and the nation. Trial of Won Se-hun who has most strong connection and reason of reinvestigation ‘s 

result is gathered a interest to many people. Also, the public want to know people who will receive 

punishment by the law, but it seems difficult to trace 'the comment unit' to punish and recover the 

budget.
