The fear of the hamburger disease is spreading across the nation after the news broke out recently about a four-year-old girl losing 90 percent of her kidney function, allegedly after eating an uncooked patty at McDonald’s. 

The child was hospitalized for two months in September 2016, and was diagnosed with HUS. HUS (Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome) is commonly known as the hamburger disease as it is usually caused by consuming bacteria from contaminated food such as undercooked hamburger patties. The strong link between HUS and hamburgers has raised concerns, especially for parents with young children.

When reporters interviewed the mother of a four-year-old child who was suffering from a kidney disease, her mother was in grief. The child must remove the germs in the stomach and live in the tube instead of in the tube until death, and the child's mother reassures that they only need one worm to keep the child from being surprised. The citizens also seemed to be very sad. 

On the other hand, McDonald's company continues to investigate the matter, claiming that patty cannot get less. McDonald’s has denied any link between its product and the child’s illness, saying that none of their hamburgers had any issues when the ingredients on the day of the incident were checked. The food chain also iterated that the meat is cooked mechanically, which eliminates any sort of human error. However, according to the internal data submitted to Hwang, the hamburger patties can still be undercooked because the grill’s temperature varies depending the spot 

the meat is placed.

“Although McDonald‘s claims that it is impossible to serve undercooked meat as all foods are cooked mechanically, it has been found that some stores failed to fully cook the food by putting the grill on the wrong settings or by not placing the meat in the right position,“ said Hwang.

The victim‘s family plans to request a court order against the company for evidence preservation including surveillance videos and is also seeking to file a compensation suit.
