On June 14, 2017, in west London, an apartment block was caught on fire in the early hours of Wednesday. At least 58 people were killed in fire. Also, many people are missing on that place. The fire in the 24-story building broke out around 1 A.M. on Wednesday. At that time, many resident were sleeping. There are 125 families who live in the building. Firefighters arrived at around 1 a.m., just six minutes after the fire was reported. Also, they worked overnight. Around 200 firefighters, 40 fire trucks and 20 ambulance crews were there to save the people.
Because of this accident, many people gathered outside 10 Downing Street on Saterday. People's anger escalated when the Prime Minister did not meet with the survivors and victims of the fire. Then, Ms May visited Downing street to meet the victims on Saterday. Also, the Queen and Prince William visited Grenfell Tower survivors. Nevertheless, it will take weeks or longer to identify all the dead and victims.
Firefighters worked overnight to help evacuate the people in the building. After the accident, they rested on sidewalks and street. British people took a picture of them, and many people took to Twitter to thank them. Some people praised thme as "heroes" As they continued to work to carry out the wreckage. They also searched for missing people. The Queen also praised their bravery.
After the fire, ambulance crews took 74 people to hospitals. This terrible fire made people feel fear. However, because of the firefighters help, many people are able to survive, but many people still cannot recover. 58 people died at least, and also 74 people were taken to the hospital. Many people were very angry with this situation. The Prime Minister visited the victims four days later after the fire, and it made people angry, too.
