Stellar Daisy, a VLOC (Very Large Ore Carrier), sank on April 1st, on the South Atlantic, around 4 am. It was carrying Iron Ore from Brazil to China, and the ship was built a quarter of a century ago. The whereabouts of the remaining 22 crew members were unknown.Stellar Daisy, a VLOC, was carrying Iron ore from Brazil to China. It sank on the South Atlantic.

Stellar Daisy emitted a distress signal before it sank, and a search and rescue operation was launched. The Uruguayan Navy reported finding an oil sheen along with a strong smell of fuel. A short time later, two life rafts from the Stellar Daisy were located by one of the commercial vessels. There was enough food for 15 people to last for three days, and it also rained after the incident. So there was a good chance that the crew members were still alive.

The newly appointed Head Secretary of Social Innovations said, "While identifying the reason why the ship sank, we will search for the remaining crew members actively using satellites." However, some said that the government was neglectful and did not do its best in searching for the ship. Lawmaker, Park Joo Min, of the Liberal party, stated that this incident was no different from the Sewol ferry incident, and that the government's inability to solve a problem had not changed. The ship owner, Polaris Shipping, had also shown indifference and had not done much except promising that they would do their best in finding and rescuing the eight Korean crew members. The families of the lost crew members had shown their dissatisfaction in the way that the government was reacting to this problem.

The eight Korean crew members might still be alive, and the government and Polaris Shipping should not stop searching for the crew members. Polaris Shipping and the government were obliged to do their best to find the Korean sailors, and the families should not lose hope.
