These days, many schools find some ways on how to let students become interested in science. So, they made a project called "STEAM Day". This project's name is an acronym for science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. STEAM Day came from American STEM education. When this education is adopted in South Korea, they add art. Then, the STEM changed to STEAM. This project was started in 2011.

This project's purpose is to raise students' creativity and imagination. Students make some results on STEAM Day. They have to do everything in a day. There are lots of programs such as experience 3D printers, control drones, and make some objects.

There are two kinds of projects on STEAM Day, the team project and the personal project. The team project is to make some objects about science. Students make some objects about the subject on that day. For example, they make a house that can protect us from disaster. Then, the teachers will give them material like paper or a carton of milk. They discuss with their team and make the object that is relevant to the subject.

The personal project is drawing a picture or writing an article about science. They think about future medical science or others about science. Then, they draw it themselves. If they write an article, they can write about their interest or other things.

The result of this project is students become interested in science. After this project, many students said that it is very helpful to their career, and they want to do it again. However, many students wanted more time to finish this project. Also, Okdong Middle School's principal said that because of this event, he expects that it will be an opportunity for students to make science a living. So, nowadays, many schools hold this project every year.
