COVID-19 has changed our lives. We cannot go outside, and we cannot go to school and the workplace. Students could not go to school, so they have to study through an online class. However, the online class was not well-prepared. Students could not study well, and they could not ask questions to their teacher. Because of these hardships, many students' grades decreased. Also, education between students increased. Why did this problem happen and why this can be a problem?

In recent years, many expensive private educational consulting centers have grown in South Korea. Many parents made their children attend academy classes and private lessons, so an educational gap has existed between those who attend academy classes and those who do not. However, after COVID-19 is in vogue, most schools turned their classes into online classes, but students have difficulty attending online classes, and they could not as to their teacher. So, people who can afford made their children go to expensive academies and have private lessons. Also, they could study in academies more because they have more time. However, people who cannot afford had to make their children study alone. As a result, students who go to academies get better grades, and students who could not go to academies get lower grades. Therefore, the grades of middle-rank students go down to low rank, and high-rank students can get better grades. So, the gap between the grades of low and high-rank increases, and educational polarization becomes more severe.

Then, why this can be a severe problem? If COVID-19 lasts for a long time, and students cannot go to school, the educational gap between students will continue to increase. People who are rich can make their children go to academies and private lessons. Their children can study in better condition than others. They will get good grades than others, and they can make their children attend academy classes. However, people who are not rich cannot make their children study in a better place. They will surely have difficulty with studying online. They will not get good grades, and they may not have a good chance to get a good job. If this problem lasts, the inheritance of wealth will become more severe.

Because of COVID-19, many people are suffering. Students have a problem with studying because they cannot study in school. This problem has led to educational polarization between students. This can be a severe problem if educational polarization persists. To solve this problem, we have to wear a mask and not forget sanitation. The only way to solve this problem is by eliminating COVID-19.
