When I wake up in the morning, my mom makes a sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes, and eggs. It's very fresh because the ingredients that my mom ordered last night were delivered at dawn. Today is the day when the orchestra is played in school. The suit that the laundry picked up yesterday afternoon arrived this morning with a clean iron.

I had to take a taxi because I had to carry my instrument. Since I made a reservation on my smartphone, a taxi arrived in front of my house just in time. While I was waiting for the concert time, the team members ordered hamburgers from McDonald's. They were delivered to the school on time right after the concert so that we could eat right away. When I came home, a pretty flower was delivered. I am a member of a company that delivers new flowers every two weeks.

After cleaning the house and arranging my flower, I went for a walk with my mom. The wide river called 'Han River' is very close to home. While sitting on a large lawn and watching the sunset, I suddenly became hungry. When I ordered fried chicken with a smartphone, a delivery man on a motorcycle arrived at the park in 30 minutes.

This was my daily routine a few days ago. I used the delivery service for six times. Delivery has become an indispensable method in everyday life in Korea. There is almost nothing that cannot be solved by delivery. That is why it is sometimes called Korea's "delivery heaven".

There was also a survey showing that Koreans like delivery the most.

According to a survey of a total of 8,000 consumers in 20 countries affected by COVID19 from late August to early September done by Dunhumby, a global data analysis company, it was found that Korean consumers are the most active in using delivery or transportation when living in consumer life.

60% of Korean respondents said they use food delivery services, which was the highest among the target countries. It is twice the average of 20 countries (27%). Also, the country where the frequency of online shopping increased the most due to COVID19 was South Korea.

57 percent of Korean respondents said that they place online orders more often than before. It is more than twice as high as 25%, which is average in 20 countries.

These days, local supermarkets have also entered in the delivery competition. As groceries were resolved through delivery, supermarkets which were in trouble began to deliver them as well. Higher competitiveness equals faster speed and better efficiency.

Because it is the same apartment complex or neighborhood, there is no need to deliver it by car or motorcycle. It is a form in which the ordered goods are loaded onto a wheeled cart, and a supermarket staff walks around the complex and delivers them.

For example, if you want to make a hot cake, but you don't have milk and syrup, you can request delivery. Heavy bottled water, which is difficult to lift, is also a popular product that requests delivery to a local supermarket.

There are numerous reasons that delivery has become an important means of living in Korea. In addition to being busy making money, there has also been a situation where it is necessary to refrain from outside activities this year due to the pandemic. Dunham by analyzed the reason Koreans prefer delivery the most is that consumers of varied ages have already experienced the convenience of online shopping, and they concern about the disease the most.

This survey showed Korea was ranked as the country most worried about pandemic out of 20 countries. 53% of South Korean respondents said they are very concerned about COVID19.

The size of the delivery market is also huge. In the 2019 online shopping trend report released by the National Statistical Office, the number of foodservice transactions recorded KR 9,736.5 billion, risen 84.6% from the previous year. However, the actual delivery market is expected to be beyond the numerical value. This is because there are more various delivery contents in addition to the food services caught in the Statistics Korea data.

The actual delivery target is no longer limited to the product. In some cases, services are delivered. In other words, it is so-called as 'errand', paying someone else to do your job for you because you are busy or bothered due to other activities.

Women living alone often do so that are difficult to do like miscellaneous chores such as catching bugs, unclogging a toilet, or hanging curtains. It is said that they even ask for washing. It costs about KR 30,000 to run an errand.
