About 50 people throughout the nation died, missed and injured because of the heavy rainfall this year. The rainy season period has almost reached the longest period this time, lasting for 47 days. It brought huge damage to all regions all over the country of South Korea. It had passed nine years since 77 people died and missed due to the heavy rainfall in 2011.

As there is consecutive rainfall, the ground has been weakened, and avalanche has occurred in some regions. Over 656 avalanches have occurred only in the month of August, and landslide forecast was issued in 81 regions throughout the country. The Korea Forest Service had an emergency inspection in the regions that has vulnerable areas, and over 1,000 people in the regions concerned with its damage were evacuated by the instruction of the Korea Forest Service.

There were also a lot of regions that experienced flood damage due to the deluge of the river. On August 8, the Seomjin River Embankment was destroyed because of its maximum value of outflow. Some of the river banks were destroyed, and it had caused great damage. About 300 residents in those regions took shelter in the cultural center, which is the evacuation facility in their town, next to their town office. Unfortunately, there were damages to human life, and about 70 agricultural lands and houses were deluged due to the destruction of the embankment. The cause of the destruction of the embankment was not found yet, since people could not approach the site at the time.

Because of the unprecedented rainy season duration, there is huge damage across the world. Many regions across the world. Many regions across the nation of South Korea had a great deal of damage through this rainy season. After this rainy season, many local governments are going to restore all the things that were destroyed during this year's rainy season.
