In the summer, people in South Korea suffer from insects like mosquitoes. At night, people suffer more from them than when working in the office. They not only interrupt people's activities like sleeping but also injure and kill them. For these reasons, some people are afraid of harmful insects in their house. To terminate them, researchers and some companies have developed ways, and people use many ways of terminating harmful insects. The most widely used are pesticides.

We can see pesticides everywhere because it is easy to use, and we can blink of an eye using it. However, pesticides can destroy our life and planet. How does it happen? It does not take effect immediately, however, the effects of using pesticides have appeared recently. One example of these effects is these days, more people are having a cardiovascular disease because of pesticide's component, Bioresmethrin. When we spread it to plants and seaweed, it will affect not only the plant, and soil but also animals such as chickens, cows, pigs birds, and fishes. This phenomenon is serious for people because it can be very dangerous when accumulated.

To prevent the increasingly negative effects of pesticides, some researchers recommend the use of plants. Some plants have sticky parts that can catch harmful insects, and some also have a smell that insects dislike. For example, rose geranium has an odor like a rose to people. However, it has a sickening smell to insects like a mosquito. The other example is a kind of a pitcher plant. It has a sticky part, so when insects land on this plant, it catches them and melts them. These kinds of plants are not harmful to people and the planet.

There are many kinds of pesticides that we can use to terminate harmful insects. It is easy to kill them using these pesticides. However, they can destroy the planet and many creatures' life. So, environmental movement organizations advise people to use eco-friendly ways like using rose geranium, a kind of pitcher plant.
