On January 20th, a woman who is a Chinese national was confirmed to have coronavirus. She was the first confirmed case in South Korea. A man who worked in Wuhan entered South Korea on January 22 and was confirmed to have coronavirus. He had a fever and sore throat, but he did not have any respiratory symptoms, so he was classified as an active patient.
As time passed, on February 23, as of 09:00, 566 confirmed cases of coronavirus were reported. According to the Ministry of Education, to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, it is reported that classes in all kindergartens, elementary, middle and high schools, special schools and various schools across the country will be postponed. When the news was reported, many students were pleased because they do not have to go to school for a week, but, on the other hand, they were worried about their examinations.
As more people who got infected with coronavirus in South Korea, many of the citizens were worried that they might be infected with the virus. In Daegu, where the virus was widely spread by a religious cult, the school's opening date will be extended further. About 2,000 people have been infected with the virus, and the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education announced that it would postpone the start of school for another two weeks. In addition, they announced that they would receive additional requests for care as the situation was urgent.
Most of the citizens, including students, are in a stage of nervousness. Many schools across the country are going to reduce the date of vacation since their opening date will be delayed. If the confirmed people still increase a lot, schools across the country might be directed to delay the opening date.
