Sergio Canavero, an Italian neurosurgeon and Professor Ron Xiaoping(任曉平) , MD(Doctor of Medicine), chief medical officer of Harbin(哈爾濱) Medical University, China, are going to attempt a  head transplant at a hospital in Harbin, China.

In 2014, Kanabero, who was referred to as "Dr. Frankenstein" by introducing a plan to  transplant a person's head onto another person's body, announced this major transplant surgery plan in Russia during 2017 after successful monkey head transplant surgery in January 2016.

Kanabero said in an interview with China's Internet media Feng Fei(澎湃) Ooom that a Chinese patient will receive head transplant surgery at Harbin Medical University Hospital in China for the first time in the world before December this year.  What was different from the original plan was that the place was changed from Russia to China and that the patient who will undergo surgery changed from a Russian who had congenital spinal muscular atrophy to a Chinese person.

Kanabero introduces Professor Ron Xiaoping as a 'very close friend', and said the reasons for changing the surgical site by saying "China has the best conditions to succeed in surgery." and "  We Chose China because it is easier to cooperate with Professor Ron." also said future plans by saying "Professor Ron Xiaoping will hold a press conference in China wi thin the next two months, and give a detailed surgery plan".

Feng Pai said, 'Theoretically, a human head transplant surgery is possible, but it is dangerous because it has not gone through any clinical trials.' 'It takes about 36 hours to perform a surgery and costs 68.8 million yuan (about 11.2 billion won).'

In addition, ,in the medical profession, it has been argued that because of the surgery is likely to cause ethical controversy, he decided to collaborate with the Chinese medical team to get surgery approval, and in the community it also worrying to hear him say 'The patients will have difficulty in daily life after surgery.'
