HMC Executive Vice President and CEO of Commercial Vehicle Division, In Cheol Lee, said that hydrogen cars were not unsubstantial in the future, only in the present. Moreover, Hyundai took part in making hydrogen cars through a strategic partnership with the United States of America.
Hyundai participated at the North American Commercial Vehicle Show at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, USA, last October 31, 2019. They released the hydrogen truck concept car, HDC-6 Neptune. Hyundai introduced a useful and eco-friendly vehicle that will be used in the near future. Hyundai also shared the present condition of the hydrogen car.
Neptune has a round front and one-piece structure. Its design was inspired by a streamlined shape that Henry Dreyfuss designed in 1930. The hydrogen truck interior is not only larger than a normal truck but also has flatter ground. It has a windshield glass, and its frame takes charge on the digital dashboard and infotainment system and provides HMI (Human Machine Interface) that maximize the convenience of the user. Also, Neptune has gesture control that perceives eyes and body action, eye-Tracking, and voice command. Also, Neptune provides a smart office and comfortable living room atmosphere through seat that can change direction in the interior and projection screen. On the other hand, Hyundai led the hydrogen mobility business in the world. In the United States of America, Hyundai contracted MOU that supplies hydrogen fuel cell systems in the car market with Cummins. Moreover, Hyundai presented a realistic truck to the world.
Hyundai planned to make seventeen eco-friendly car models including seven electric vehicles and ten hydrogen fuel cell cars by 2025 and lead public transportation through convert as Smart Mobility Solution Provider beyond manufacturer so that Hyundai will make a new paradigm in the logistics field.
