Have you ever heard about BTS, Twice, Seventeen, Monsta X, Black Pink, and Red Velvet? All of these are Korean idol groups. They have a new name nowadays, and it is K-pop. K-pop is a genre of Korean popular songs. It is so popular that foreigners know well about it, and it has many fans. However, K-pop has two faces, advantages, and disadvantages. 

First of all, K-pop has many advantages. It increases foreign travelers to South Korea, so South Korea can earn foreign currency. K-pop is a cultural product, and it makes good images for foreigners. If the cultural product's image is good, the image of South Korea improves, leaving a great effect in many areas in addition to the directly related industries, such as K-pop and tourism int the entire manufacturing sector, including food, IT, automobile and clothing. Also, K-pop means of international understanding, so it becomes peaceful and social.

K-pop has disadvantages, too. K-pop is being too commercial, so the contents are to the uniform. Also, K-pop companies do not care enough about their artists. Only the best groups and some solo artists can live on their income, so idol groups have to be competitive with other groups, and pay is much worse to unpopular groups that America or Europe. The last one is that companies employ according to appearance. So, anyone who wants to be an idol should be pretty and handsome. It causes children to get cosmetic surgery. Ji Hyeok Jeong, a professor at Seoul National University Hospital of cosmetic surgery, said that teenagers are changeable because of puberty, so they have to be careful.

K-pop has many features, advantages, and also disadvantages. Although it has disadvantages, it is quite sure that K-pop will improve people's lives, and it is one of the parts of Korean culture.
