Have you ever heard about the Arirang festival? There is a possibility that you may have heard about the word, Arirang. However, not many people know what the Arirang festival is. Even though Arirang is considered as one of the most important cultures in South Korea, not many people know where it came from and who sang this song. There many are many hypotheses about the origin of Arirang. However, the common argument is the fact that one unknown old man from a very long time made Arirang. And, the government designate Arirang is an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity because it is a typical song of South Korea in comparison with its long history is not exact. Arirang exists and is sung by many people until now. As time goes on, more and more people from various countries are trying to know about Arirang. This is because a lot of k-pop stars, such as BTS used the melody of Arirang in their songs to spread the beauty of it.

Recently, the regional community is trying its best to spread the name, and the value of Arirang through opening the event and Gangwondo hosted the Arirang festival from August 16th to 17th, 2019. The host of this event prepared a lot of fun events such as making handwriting, and photo printing. For the festival, many singers and groups went to the Arirang festival from many abroad. Especially, Pyongyang Arirang Arts company who consists of North Korean defector and Song So-hee Korean classical musician went to the Arirang Festival. It was a meaningful scene to lots of people and furthermore, it makes progress to a better relationship with North Korea and South Korea. It is a great festival because of visitors can enjoy the festival. But theretofore, it is a good chance to thinking about Korea's unity and the world. Many people interviewed this festival gave new feelings to people and like as unification, hope to lots of people can participate in the Arirang festival next year and can learn about various cultures from many abroad and world. It was a big festival as much as every an age group participate in the festival and it was hosted in DMZ, the Arirang festival gave a big impression to people's mind.
