A program managed by a subsidiary of the Japanese brand, DHC, that sells cosmetics and dietary supplements in South Korea has broadcast contents that disparage South Korea and distorts history, so "Abhor South Korea Broadcasting" controversy is growing.
Recently, on DHC Television's current affairs program, Toranomon News(虎ノ門ニュース), a panel said that South Korea is originally a country that becomes hot soon and cool soon, so they should just wait and see about the boycott of Japan happened in South Korea. Also, there was a remark distorting history. Another panel said that the Josenzing used Chinese characters but failed to make the literation of them. Japan made a textbook and handed out Hangul, the Korean alphabet, and presenting Hangul is the thing that Japanese unified.
About this controversy, DHC reportedly only gave their answer saying that they had nothing to say without any apology. By this controversy, the boycott of Japan in South Korea gets growing. A lot of Korean claim to expel not only DHC but also Japanese companies from South Korea.
Meanwhile, DHC, which was established in 1975, is considered as one of the biggest mail-order firms in Japan. It mainly sells cleansing oils and dietary supplements. Since it entered South Korea on April 2002, it has built awareness by using famous female entertainers as advertisement models.
