Because of the popularity of their Korean-style macaroon, people usually line up in front of the stores and wait for their order. The popularity of Korean-style macaroon is growing gradually.

Macaroon is originally a cookie of France. It is colorful, and it has a round shape and small size. Original macaroon's proportion of two crusts and filling between them is 1:1:1. The ingredients of macaroon are almond, egg white, sugar, buttercream, jam, ganache, and many others.

As the popularity of macaroon in South Korea has increased, people became interested in it. So, the original French macaroon was adapted into the thicker one so-called Ddungcaron. It has three times more amounts of fillings than the original French macaroon. Korean-style macaroon, ddungcaron, was made because of the combination of Korean food culture that makes much satiety, and affection and many pictures due to the development of SNS. Through Instagram, more people get to know about Korean-style macaroon and become curious about it, and they want to try it. There are many kinds of flavors of ddungcaron such as hamburger, ice cream, rice cake, and many others. The price of them is reasonable. Most of them are 2,000 won or a little more expensive.

Due to the small business owner's effort to captivate the public's tastes, macaroon is now evolving continually. However, in South Korea, it is common that certain foods suddenly become popular and then lost their popularity immediately. So, we cannot assure how long the popularity of ddungcaron persists.
