In ancient times, Korea was a colony. Japan ruled us for 35 years. They took Korea's diplomatic rights in 1910 and we made independence. The main role is Dosan Ahn Changho, who contributed to Korea's independence by the educator.
He was born at South Pyeongan Province in 1878. When he was 16, the Sino-Japanese War broke out. Then, this war became a trigger to him to take the lead of independence and education of his homeland.
Ahn Changho attends Korea Independence Club in 1897 and established a coeducational school in 1899. He made efforts to make Korea's education level higher. After the Japan-Korea Treaty of 1905, he made New People's Association, an anti-Japan secret society. However, he was caught by Japanese police because of bomb accident of Yun Bonggil, so he died while the prisoned life.
Dosan Ahn Changho had a good personality, too. He considered three capital importantly, which are financial, psychological, and ethical. Also, he thought important about four minds which are falsehood, retrogression, general consultation, and valor. In addition, he spent his life based on national reformation.
There is a line, A Nation that Forgets Its Past has No Future. Therefore, we should become interested in history and never forget lots of historical people who contributed to developed independent Korea where we are living now.
