The second summit between U.S. president Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jung-un is a truly worldwide issue these days. Because not only countries like India or Israel are also nuclear states and they have conducted nuclear tests so far. And, the main problem in North Korea is that the North has not full filled its promises related to the international treaties such as NPT, Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, and the Geneva Convention on the treatment of detainees. They have even used unfair practices to speak of their own opinions within the international community and, in turn, has become a major threat to the North itself.
There are two different viewpoints on the North Korean Nuclear issue. One is a group of people who take a tough stance and the other is the people who think an appeasement policy is needed. In the former's opinion, "Since the North has maintained the attitude of 'provocation, communication, and reward', meaning the North intentionally takes provocative actions, then has dialogue with international community, and finally is supported by them.", some strongly insist that such practice be broken and must be eradicated. And some of them say, "South Korea should be a nuclear power as well so as to respond to nuclear threats.
" On the contrary to this, the latter argues that "International community puts an exceptional amount of pressure on North Korea to accept the demand for intensive nuclear inspections.", and they defend the North's idea saying "It is unfair to categorize the North as the 'axis of evil' because they may use their nuclear power not for attacks but for defense." Both South and North Korea have the same roots as a nation and both are subject to achieve a political unity and financial gains through vigorous interchanges.
