The 2019 Billboard Music Awards were held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 1, 2019. Many singers shined last year, and this year many artists such as Drake, Juice WRLD, and Ariana Grande attended the 2019 BBMAs. The BBMAs is one of the biggest music awards in America, which is considered a trendy award ceremony. It has various awards including Top Artist, Top Social Artist, and Top Duo/ Group award. BTS won two such prizes Top Social Artist award and Top Duo/ Group award.

BTS won Top Social Artist award in 2017 and 2018. The fact that they received Top Social Artist award for the third consecutive year is not random. Also, it is not dependent on just its massive social media following. Top Social Artist award is chosen only by the number of fans' votes. "Our ARMY received the prize!" that they always say is definitely true.

They even won the competitive Top Duo/ Group award which has Imagine Dragon and One Direction for previous winners. They beat out superstars such as Imagine Dragons, Maroon 5, Dan + Shay and Panic! At The Disco. It was the first time for a K-pop artist to win the award. They got recognition for their musical talent and influencing the international music market. Taking this opportunity, BTS is positioned as a worldwide band.

BTS also teamed up with American singer Halsey. The members released the album "Map of the Soul: Persona", which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 on this April 22, featured Halsey's attractive voice on the title song. At the BBMAs, they performed the title song "Boy with Luv", live. This stage is the first time Halsey is shown dancing. They showed their perfect chemistry with other artists to the BBMAs, audience, and watchers.

BTS decorated the main screen of the UN homepage. BTS appearing on the main page of UN that billions of people visit every day shows everyone that BTS' influence has grown bigger to represent international young generation's standard over the music.
