The double decker electric bus is suitable for a wide area in the metropolitan because it has higher fuel efficiency and lower fine dust extract than the normal double decker bus which uses diesel engine according to Korea Land and Transport Science Technology Progress Director, Bong Soo Son.


Hyundai revealed the double decker electric bus initally in Gyeonggi-do on May 29th, 2019 as the assignment of Korean mass double decker electric bus competition supported by Korea Land and Transport from December 2017 to May 2019.

The double decker electric bus' overall length is 12990 mm. Its overall height is 3995 mm, and its overall width is 2490 mm. Without including the driver, it can take seventy people, ( eleven on the first floor and fifty nine on the second floor. It has low floor sliding ramp which helps socially weak person through the electric slide, and two steadfast wheel-chair spaces. It has 384 kW Li-ion polymer battery with water cooling system so that it can make sure of 300 km with one charge, and the time to sufficiently charge is seventy-two minutes. It uses a wheel motor axis which combines 120 kw and 240 kw motor at the middle wheel. Plus, it applies an independent suspension system at forwarding wheel and materializes optimal steering through the rear wheel steering system. In the technology part, it has VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control) which knows the drive direction which driver intends and helps the bus keep its control, FCA ( Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist) which informs the driver the forward collision danger and slows down or stops the bus so that it keeps the bus from the collision, and LDW ( Lane Departure Warning) which informs driver that the bus is tempted to secede the lane for the passengers.

The double decker electric bus is revealed in Gyeonggi-do on May 29th, 2019. As it uses electricity to work, only ten dollar is used at one charge while one hundred eighty dollars is used when the diesel bus is charged.
