Hwang
Ha-na, the only granddaughter of the founder of Namyang Dairy Products Co., was
sent to be prosecuted for drug use. In 2015, Hwang supplied methamphetamines to
a college student but was cleared of the charges. Police have also
reinvestigated the case and found out about her drug use. She also illegally took
psychotropic drugs in April last year. She pegged Park Yucheon, a member of JYJ
and her ex-boyfriend, as the person with whom she did drugs. He held a press
conference to speak his opinion. He denied Hwang’s statement.
On
the online community, pictures of Park's legs, believed to have been taken
around June 2017, were posted. Park's legs were covered with scars in the
photo. They were red and some of the wounds were red. Many netizens raised a
question that his scars are a kind of side effect caused by using drugs. However,
Park said, "Because of stress, my immune system has weakened, and I am
suffering from shingles."
The narcotics investigation team of the Gyeonggi Southern District
Police Agency secured Park's hair and leg hair to ask for an examination. The
National Institute of Scientific Investigation said it was informed of the test
results that methamphetamine was detected in Park's leg hair.
Following Robert Holley(a broadcasting celebrity)’s drug case, and Burning Sun’s use of drugs, this case is also a case about drugs. Not only celebrities but also ordinary people's drug crimes are on the rise every year. As students studying abroad and overseas travelers can easily access or purchase narcotics from foreign countries, ordinary people are taking drugs and using them after returning to Korea. Drugs are dangerous because they tend to involve many different crimes.
