On May 5th (local time), according to a local media in India and Bangladesh, cyclone "Fani", which landed in the eastern Indian state of Odisha at 8 a.m., passed through Bangladesh on Sunday afternoon and disappeared. Bangladesh's weather authorities said that on May 4th in the afternoon, cyclone "Fani" weakened by a low pressure and announced that most force of cyclone Fani had disappeared, so they lift the warning.

The Indian and Bangladeshi governments evacuated 2.8 million people to safer areas in advance, leading to only few casualties. More than nine thousand shelters were set up in Odisha of India, and 100 thousand government officials and 45 thousand military personnel were deployed to help and support the victims.
