Do you know Sam-il-jeol in Korea? Sam-il-jeol is called Independence Movement Day of Korea because it is the day to commemorate the patriots who died while fighting for the Independence of Korea. Sam-il-jeol is a nationwide movement and has begun to read the Declaration of Independence for Korea. In Byeongyoung, people remember Sam-il-jeol, at Byeongyeong four-way stop on March 1st, 2019, the time after 100years from real Sam-il-jeol Independence Movement.
Byeongyeong Sam-il-jeol March held March 1st to commemorate Sam-il-jeol. They had a loving country concert, honoring those who laid down their lives for Korea, installation QR code in Byeongyeong Elementary School, and Samulnori competition on the stage. Samulnori is folk music accompanied by four Korean traditional instruments. Also, they played about Japans barbarity to Korea. It was including of Japan's barbarity like suppressed Korean citizens with guns and sword although the citizens did not have any guns or swords. Those events made people think one more time about patriotic martyr and patriotism of Korea.
In this festival, No Oak Hee, who is a superintendent of education, had joined and said that we will continue to carry out the centennial project of the Sam-il-jeol Independence Movement and discover the anti-Japanese Movement of the educational community to restore the forgotten history. Also, she installed QR code in Byeongyeong Elementary School at very first.
This QR code says about what happened in Sam-il-jeol and many historical things on that day. Kim Le Shick, the mother of students in Byeongyeong Elementary School said that she thought it will be nice to put QR code because it is helpful to students for understanding about Sam-il-jeol.The main purpose of this festival is the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Sam-il-jeol and thank you to a patriot who laid down for independence of South Korea. At that point, this festival completely succeeded. Therefore, Byeongyeong Sam-il-jeol March will continue next year and forever.
