▲ Jang Hack-yong

On September 21st, former player Jang Hack-yong offered match-fixing to Lee Han-saem. He tried to lure Lee Han-saem to receive a red card in a match with Busan IPark for 50 million won. However, Asan Mugunghwa FC's defender, Lee Han-saem, rejected his offer and immediately reported it to the police. Jang Hack-yong is in custody now. He is going to get a punishment because of his crime, match-fixing.

Then, what is match-fixing? Match-fixing is a hateful crime that makes matches boring. It makes a player play in ridiculous ways, and it makes the audiences feel annoyed. A proposer gives money to a player who accepts to join in the proposer's match-fixing. Then, that player intentionally gets a red card or makes ridiculous mistakes. If the player succeeds to fix the match, the proposer can earn money with his gambling. There are a lot of gambling sites, but Sports Toto is the most popular gambling site. South Korea's students also bet money in this site. A proposer usually bets a lot of money on a game and tries to fix a match. If he succeeds to guess correctly which team wins, he can earn more money than what he bet. Gambling is a crime, but fixing a match is a hateful crime, too. The South Korean government is trying to remove this to make more interesting sports games.

Lee Han-saem did not accept Jan Hack-yong's offer and immediately reported it to the police. It demands braveness to report to the police because proposers can revenge him later. However, Lee Han-saem's braveness contributed to make the K League cleaner. Lee Han-saem received a financial reward from the K League Commissioner, Kwon Oh-gap. He received 70 million won, which is more expensive than 50 million won. Asan Mugunghwa FC's high-ranked participators said that Lee Han-saem's rejection of Jang Hack-yong's offer made cheating prevention education more important. Lee Han-saem said that K League is not going to be contaminated with cheating, and with his colleagues, they will contribute to make the K League cleaner.
