First, a mixtape is a free song or album that is released online rather than on a CD or music distribution site, mainly used with hip-hop and R&B musician. He is the third BTS member to drop a mixtape after RM in 2015 and Suga in 2016.

There are many songs in Hope World mixtape. It contains a story about what the 24 years old singer felt and thought in his daily life such seven tracks like Daydream, Base Line, Airplane, Piece of Peace, Always, and Blue Side. The music video naturally melted the meaning of J-hope's frank lyrics into the music video. He said the Airplane song described what he felt on the plane, and it talked about his dream of flying in the plane until in the present.
J-hope's mixtape, Hope World first chart is number 63. Also, he topped and became No.1 on iTunes top album chart in 63 countries and territories worldwide. He set the new record as the most famous solo artist in South Korea. He revealed in an interview last year, his passion for mixed tapes and his desire to make one by himself.
J-Hope's solo release Hope World debuts at No.63 on the Billboard 200 with 9,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending on March 1, according to Nielsen Music in Jeff Benjamin's newspaper.
