Do you know the movie entitled 'Midnight Runners' that many people have seen in 2017? Because of this movie, many people were interested in the police. However, they do not know well about it. So now, I will tell you what the job of a police are, what we should do, and what we need to do to be one.

What do policemen do? They protect people's life and property, and they also maintain order in our society. They prevent crime and start an investigation if a crime happens. There are two ways to be the police. 

The first way is taking a police officer civil service examination. If we pass it, the class will be the first class of the police. They do different kinds of works. They maintain the traffic safety and order and also patrol in our societies. 

The second way is entering a police university. Moreover, it is very difficult to enter the university. 2018 Police University's competition rate was high. Girls' competition rate was 197.8 while boys' competition rate was 57.6. To enter this university, we have to take tests. First, we have to take tests which include English, Korean, and Math. Then, if we pass these tests, we have to take a physical examination, aptitude test, and interview. If we graduate from the university the police class, we start from being a lieutenant.

Next, there are some things that policemen need. According to Lieutenant Park Ye Ri who works at Iksan Police Office, policemen need to have a sense of responsibility and precision. Having it as a job gives a lot of influence to citizens, so they have to make decisions well. Also, they have to comfort and help the citizen well. They need to have a sense of duty because policemen have to sacrifice themselves to the community. They have to work hard morning and also at night time, so they need to be strong, and have good mental power. Our policemen are jobs which have to help the citizen, take the initiative and set an example to people, so they need public spirit.

Some people could think policemen do not have a difficult job; it is a really hard physically and mentally. They have to work least 8 hours a day. The duty hours could be different by classes. Also, they have to work at night, but due to Lieutenant Seo Min Su, he helped a girl who lived very poorly. Because of his help, the girl could live better than before. He said that even though it is a very hard work and needs lots of sense of duty and self-esteem, he is very proud of himself if people who received help feel happy and appreciate him.

If you are healthy, righteous, like to help other people, and wants to do a rewarding job for our society, how about becoming the next generation's police? I wish all of the people who want to be police can achieve their goals.
